DC’S New 52- Justice League #1

Written by Geof Johns, with art by Jim Lee, Justice League was the first DC issue 52 issue out of the gate, boasting the A-List talent. I have a bit of a love/hate relationship when it comes to reading Geoff Johns’s work. I loved his stuff with Green Lantern, Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E., but wasn’t much of a fan of him bringing back Barry Allen, only to kick Wally West to the curb(He was the Flash that actually had a personality!).
Look what they’ve reduced me to!
That being said, the Justice League is DC’s elite squad of superheros, and should command a well written, well thought out story. What we get is a little different, but a decent start to the team. It’s different in that we are introduced to only part of the team, Batman and Green Lantern. They start out the book and pretty much carry it through until the end, when they encounter Superman. Batman is unknown, Green Lantern is cocky, superman is “the alien”. We also meet cyborg(sorta) and are left with what will be a hell of an alien encounter when superman appears and knocks the snot out of Green Lantern(Hal Jordan)!

Hopefully in issue 2 we’ll meet the others: Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman and The Cyborg(for real this time).
This Justice League is playing out like the movie should(Warner Bros., Pay Attention!). It’s classy, well written, and loads of fun. Pick it up if you can, or grab the 3rd printing while it’s still available!!!
