DC’S New 52- Batwing #1

Written by Judd Winnick, with beautiful art by Ben Oliver and Brian Reber, Batwing was a pleasant surprise among the new DC 52. I’m not saying it’s going to win any awards, but the story is solid and the art is fantastic!
I agree, that art is bitchin!!!
Batwing seems to be the only character from Batman, Incorporated to leap from the pages as he establishes himself as the only force of law in the Congo, where, the police are completely powerless and corrupt in the face of drug dealing warlords and evil despots.
Batwing faces off against Massacre, a massive killing machine with unstoppable urge to murder everything he sees. He also finds himself on the trail of a killer who brutally murdered a pack of hardcore gangsters…and this is only issue #1 folks!
This comic was dumb.
Judd’s story wanders a bit but it’s refreshing to see a black man headlining a book that doesn’t feel like it’s trying to be something it’s not.
Say what?!
It’s also really cool to see Batwing, a dude in a bat costume, pitted against seriously hardened criminals who’ve seen it all and probably done it all too!
I’d say give this one a try folks!
Finding out that “Riding in the Batwing” now takes on a whole different meaning,
